TOPEKA, KANSAS – Former Senate staffer Chase Blasi declared today his candidacy for the Kansas Senate in District 27 at the upcoming Republican district convention. The seat is currently held by Senator Gene Suellentrop who has submitted his resignation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Blasi is a fifth-generation native of Colwich and currently lives in Wichita with his wife and two adopted sons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019ve decided after prayerful consideration and consultation with my wife and family that I will seek the open position in Senate District 27,\u201d said Blasi. \u201cWe need a Senator ready to hit the ground running, and I know the process after serving two Senate Presidents in Topeka on their senior staff.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a letter to precinct committee members, Blasi highlighted conservative positions on issues he will champion if elected by the district convention. He highlighted the need to maintain a conservative supermajority to override Laura Kelly\u2019s vetoes of conservative legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
